Super Gran Gudrun Ure Dies Aged 98
Actress Best Known for 1980s Children's Show
Gudrun Ure, the actress best known for her portrayal of the title character in the beloved 1980s children's show Super Gran, has died aged 98.
Ure, who was born in Scotland in 1926, played the role of Jenny Gran, a widowed grandmother who gains superpowers after being struck by a radioactive meteorite. The show, which ran for three seasons, was a huge hit with children and adults alike.
Ure's other television credits include roles in The Avengers, Doctor Who, and Taggart. She also appeared in a number of films, including The Man with a Million (1954) and The Great Gatsby (1974).
Ure died on May 2024, just a few months after her 98th birthday. She is survived by her two daughters.
